On October 30, 2017, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed a small portion of the High Line Canal Trail at C-470 to begin drainage work as part of the C-470 Express Lanes project. This closure is projected to last two months. A detour will be in place and will be clearly marked for pedestrians and cyclists.

Below is a map of the detour which uses the C-470 Trail to Erickson Boulevard, then County Line Road to Primo Road, back to the High Line Canal Trail.

CDOT asks that trail users be cautious and watch for signage to guide them as they ride or walk through the construction areas. Construction work is weather dependent and subject to change.

For motorists on C-470, courtesy patrol is provided Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to -9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to -6:30 p.m. to assist disabled vehicles at no cost to the vehicle operator.

More than 100,000 motorists currently use this segment of C-470 each day with volumes projected to increase 40 percent by 2035. Construction is scheduled for completion in spring 2019.
