Make an Impact and Leave a Legacy with your Adoption

Making an adoption through the Conservancy is a meaningful way to honor a loved one or commemorate a milestone. From graduations to birthdays to weddings – or just saying, “I love you!” – a bench or tree adoption is a gift that a loved one will treasure for years to come. Read on for current bench and tree adoptions opportunities.

Adopt-A-Bench

Bench adoptions provide an opportunity to memorialize an important person or moment. They also serve as an incredible gift to the broader community, who will pause in nature’s beauty and share in this place of reflection you’ve provided.

With a tax-deductible donation of $6,000, the Conservancy will place a bench and a personalized plaque recognizing your gift for 10 years. Your donation will help preserve, protect and enhance the Canal for generations to come.

  • Donation: $6,000/bench, option to pay over three-year pledge
  • Includes:
    • Purchase of bench
    • Site preparation and pouring of concrete
    • Installation of bench
    • Design of inscription and mount of a personalized memorial plaque
    • Adoption recognition on a digital map

Adopt-A-Tree

Tree adoptions show your love for a person or event in your life by making a meaningful dedication in their honor while supporting a vibrant future for the Canal’s tree canopy. By adopting a newly planted tree, you make an intentional commemoration and join together with the High Line Canal Conservancy to fulfill our goal to preserve, protect and enhance the Canal.

Your tax-deductible donation of $500 will play an important role in helping to preserve, protect and enhance the Canal for generations to come.

  • Donation: $500 per tree
  • Includes:
    • Previously planted young tree
    • Adoption recognition on a digital map
    • Certificate of adoption
    • Adoption tag on tree along the Canal
  • Duration: Lifetime of the tree
