FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Benches are an important furnishing that allows people to pause in nature’s beauty along our 71-mile Canal. Benches improve accessibility by providing places to stop and rest, promote connections with other trail users and can highlight attractions along the Canal such as scenic views or historic resources. The Plan for the High Line Canal proposed installing benches every quarter mile along the trail to improve user comfort and experience.

The Conservancy is currently installing wooden benches in the southern suburbs and Douglas County and metal benches in the City and County of Denver and City of Aurora.

The Conservancy is offering two rounds of bench orders and installations annually. Typically, bench orders placed by the end of January will be installed by the end of June and bench orders placed by the end of July will be installed by the end of December.

The Adopt-a-Bench program requires a donation of $6,000 for 10 years of recognition, and the adoption can be renewed at $3,000 for an additional 10 years.
