High Line Canal Walking Routes
In partnership with Walk2Connect, the Conservancy has developed 14 segment walks as a way to walk and experience all 71-miles of the High Line Canal. Walking through all five character zones will give you the unique opportunity to learn the Canal’s history and its importance to Denver over time, as well as see the variety of landscapes and communities that reside in our region from the foothills to the plains. The segments range from 5-8 miles and allow you to continuously walk close to 98% of the Canal this winter.
Trail users who complete all 14 segments within a season will receive a branded tag from the High Line Canal Conservancy signifying the completion of the entire Canal trail, so make sure to record your journey and share it with us!
Please note, prior to Summer 2017, the segment numbers started with 1 at mile marker 71 near Denver International Airport. The segments have been flipped. Now, segment 1 is in Waterton Canyon, matching up with mile marker 0. You may see previous references to the old numbering system. Maps used with permission from the High Line Canal Conservancy.
