We are pleased to announce Evan Ela and Debi Hunter Holen have joined our Board of Directors!
Evan Ela is a Partner in the law firm of Cockrel Ela Glesne Greher & Ruhland P.C., a firm specializing in water law and representing special districts. Evan serves as special water counsel for numerous special districts and municipalities and as general counsel for several special districts in Colorado. Evan will bring his water law experience to the Conservancy Board.
Debi Hunter Holen is a Colorado native and proud Aurora resident. Debi has been active in the Aurora community as an APS educator, Aurora council member, serving on Aurora Citizens for Excellent Schools, president of the Nunez Foundation, and more. Debi’s expertise will help the Conservancy improve opportunities for Canal use in Aurora.
In addition, we have a change at the helm with Paula Herzmark appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors. Dirk McDermott has moved into a position as Immediate Past Chair and is still actively supporting the Conservancy.
We will miss Conservancy founding Board members Jim Bolt, Kathy Tyree, Tom Waymire and Marty Zeller whose Board terms have ended but we know their legacy will live on.
“We are excited to add Evan and Debi to the Conservancy’s Board of Directors. Their expertise will be used to further the Conservancy to protect and enhance the Canal. We are also so grateful for Jim, Kathy, Tom, and Marty’s powerful contributions during their tenures that we will remember for years to come. These board members lifted up the work of the Conservancy,” says Harriet Crittenden LaMair, High Line Canal Conservancy Executive Director.
