Join us for activity during the week of June 20-26 to support the High Line Canal! Have questions about the week? Look no further! See below for FAQs.

Q: HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
A: There are many ways to participate! You can:

  1. Register: Sign-up as a team or individual. Set your own distance-based goals to move as many miles as you’d like.
  2. Walk, Run, Ride, Roll: Join the Conservancy for daily activities or move on your own. The Canal is a great place to explore but you can move anywhere to participate.
  3. Fundraise or Donate: Every dollar donated on June 20-26 will be matched up to $5,000 thanks to an anonymous donor so your dollars will go further to help preserve, protect and enhance the Canal.

Q: DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE ON THE CANAL?
A: No. While we would love for you to get out and enjoy the Canal, you do not have to. You can recreate where is convenient and comfortable for you to reach your goal, whether that’s on the Canal, in your neighborhood or anywhere you choose.

Q: CAN I DONATE TO MY OWN CAMPAIGN TO HIT MY GOALS?
A: Absolutely! In fact, we encourage you to jump-start your fundraising with a seed donation. Anyone (including yourself) can pitch in to help you hit your fundraising goal.

Q: WHAT DO I RECEIVE FOR REGISTERING?

A: Everyone who registers will receive a collectable Walk FOR the Canal Week bandanna and map. Then, depending on the registration level you select you can receive other great incentives such as membership to the High Line Canal and a t-shirt.

Q: DO I GET PRIZES FOR FUNDRAISING?

A: The first 71 individuals or teams to raise $1,000+ will have a Conservancy-planted tree named in their honor.

Q: WILL I BE PENALIZED IF I DO NOT HIT MY GOAL?
A: Absolutely not. We encourage all participants to achieve their goals, but you will not be penalized if you do not. Do keep in mind that the more money you raise the more giveaways you will receive and the more impact you’ll have on the Canal!

Q: HOW DO I REPORT MY MILEAGE?
A: Hitting your goal is on the honor system, and we won’t track your mileage. However, we do encourage all participants to share updates on their individual Fundraiser’s page to keep their supporters up to date.

Q: CAN I PARTICIPATE ON MY BIKE?

A: Absolutely! In fact, there is a 71-mile bike challenge you can join on the Ride Spot app and/or Strava.

Q: I DO NOT WANT TO REGISTER AND PARTICIPATE, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THIS CAMPAIGN. CAN I STILL DONATE?
A: Of course! You can click on the “Donate” button on the landing page. You can support a fundraiser or donate to the general campaign. Your donation will go directly to tree planting and other improvements along the Canal. Thank you!

Q: CAN I DONATE WITH A CHECK AND STILL SUPPORT A FUNDRAISER?
A: Yes, if you would like to donate with a check, please see below for instructions.
