Walk2Connect Winter Series Segment 11 | DeLaney Farm and the Creeks of Aurora

Walking Description: In partnership with the High Line Canal Conservancy, we will walk the entire High Line Canal, one segment at a time, covering most of the 71-mile trail.
Segment 11 of 14 Miles 56-50. On this segment, we’ll meander along the historic Delaney Farms, home to the Denver Urban Gardens CSA production fields, crossing both the East and West Toll Gate Creeks. We’ll pass by the Aurora Government Center and continue under I-225 through Central Aurora with a short detour to Del Mar Park to see the Thunder Tree location, past the historic Smith House, finishing at the north edge of Expo Park. We’ll discuss the relationship each neighborhood has with the Canal and its trail as we feel how the mood on the trail changes through this area.
Meeting Location: Parallel park along the street near 301 S. Lansing, Aurora. This is a neighborhood, so please be considerate and quiet as we gather. We will meet at the end of the segment and then carpool to the beginning of the segment. Please be parked and ready to walk at 8:50 am. We will leave no later than 9:05 am to the starting destination.
Carpool to Here: Chambers Centre, 15240 E 6th Ave, Aurora, in the Sav a Lot parking lot. We will walk the segment together. At the end of the walk, we will carpool back to the beginning of the segment to return people to their cars.
