Join Denver By Foot on a guided walking series to walk the entire High Line Canal Trail.

The High Line Canal Trail is 71 miles long and runs from Waterton Canyon to Green Valley Ranch, just south of Denver International Airport. Zigging, zagging, and curving, the asphalt, concrete, and soft surface trail meanders through urban, rural, and suburban metro Denver. Only falling 200 feet over its entire length, the Trail is relatively flat and easily traversed by walkers, hikers, rollers, and bikers. This is a 14-segment walking series that will be on consecutive Sunday mornings starting September 1 and ending December 1st.

If you cannot join a specific segment, arrangements for setting up a make-up walk may be made as time & schedules allow.

  • We will begin at the north end and proceed to Waterton Canyon.
  • Segments are approximately 5 – 6 miles, and the pace is 3 miles per hour with breaks along the route.
  • Carpooling is involved, and we meet at the end of the segment to carpool to the start so we can walk in one direction and not have to go out and back.
  • Due to some closures and construction, there may be some out-and-back—more to come on those details.
  • This donation-based event requires a suggested $5 to $10 donation for each segment. Some funds will be donated to the High Line Canal Conservancy (501c3).
  • Complete all 14 segments and earn a new medallion from the High Line Canal Conservancy.

You can expect a fun urban hiking adventure, a chance to make friends, learn a little about the different communities, and even enjoy coffee or lunch afterward.
Details for each segment, including exact meeting locations, will be sent weekly from DenverByFoot@gmail.com.
