Sights on Cycles

Tour the High Line Canal and the DeLaney Homestead by bike! Join us for a 6-mile cycle around some of Aurora’s oldest structures and hear from historians from the Aurora History Museum. Traveling by bike will allow us to see more sites and spend time pausing at each one to drink some water and learn about the early ranchers of Aurora.

DeLaney Farm Facts

• Current home to the Gully House, the DeLaney Round Barn, and the Coal Creek Schoolhouse
• Structures date from 1871 through the 1928
• Surrounded by the High Line Canal and crossed by Tollgate Creek
• Was historically a ranch and site for rodeos
• Home to the only surviving round barn in Colorado

Accessibility

Need a ride? We are partnering with Cycling Without Age Littleton to make this adventure more accessible. CWAL will bring two trishaws to this program with space for up to 4 non-cycling passengers. These spaces are for anyone who cannot currently ride a bicycle but can sit in a trishaw. You can visit CWAL’s website for photos of the trishaws to see if they would be an option for your needs. • Address: 170 S Chambers Rd, Aurora, CO 80017
• What to bring: Cyclists: Your bike and plenty of water. Helmets are required! Trishaw riders: water and comfortable clothes.
• Distance: 6 miles of cycling
• Accessibility: There is a portable restroom available at the beginning and end of the route. We will be cycling on flat gravel and paved paths and roads.
  • There will be two trishaws supplied by Cycling Without Age Littleton joining us. Each trishaw sits 2 riders with one driver. These trishaws are reserved for registrants who are not cycling on their own bike.
